Department of Computer Science and IT Engg.

Department of Computer Science and IT engineering is under aegis of Dr. CNS Murthy. He guides a team of highly qualified faculty and technical staff. The faculty members hold the BE / ME / pursuing Doctoral Degree.

At present, the Computer Science department has a modern computer centre with the latest desktop computers and thin client terminals. A striking feature of the computer centre is that it has two Blade Servers. All the terminals/computers are networked together. The department also has network printing facility and a dedicated leased line to provide internet surfing facility to the staff and students.

 The department has 6 computer labs and one exclusive lab for improving communication skills. Latest software is available to enable the students to work on data analysis, web technologies and software designing like:

• MSDN kit.
• RHEL 4 Enterprise.
• IBM Rational Rose
• NCTUNS for Networking.
• Globarena for communication skills.

The institute also has well equipped two Seminar halls with a seating capacity of more than 200 each. Video conferencing arrangement via Wireless between CITM and CIMR Auditorium. These Hall are well equipped with audio-visual and presentation tools to facilitate smooth presentations etc.
The department also has “Departmental Library” for the departmental students having reference as well as text books. The department is also providing LCD and projector facility for the effective teaching. Our some major achievements includes

• CS & IT department conducted training on IBM Rational Rose & Tivoli Storage Manager.
• 100% result in IBM Tivoli Certification exam conducted by IBM.
• IT III rd yr student Hemant Pawar awarded Vice Chancellor scholarship.

Department focuses on making the student enough competent to get placed in well known companies. The department arranges various expert lectures, educational visits, programming contest for students. The overall goal of the department is to make brilliant and dynamic students to meet the industry challenges.
